Look who has glasses!

My little Brooklyn is now sporting some pretty cute glasses. I know I am biased but I think she looks darn cute, just too old! I noticed her right eye starting to turn in as she focused on things like cartoons or me when I was talking to her from a distance. We decided to take her to the eye doctor who confirmed my findings, since Brandon never saw her eye "wander". Now I know I am not crazy and my eyes aren't incorrect! We are trying to make it fun for her so it won't be such a struggle for her to keep them on. We'll see how it goes. Since we caught it early, we hope it will correct her eye so she won't have glasses her whole life. Any bets on how long this first pair will last!?

Mackenzie

Since Mackenzie's new bike is a "mountain" bike, Brandon decided he was going to take her on a mountain bike ride. He took her on a dirt road trail not too far from our house to give her the feel of it. She did great, especially climbing, but didn't enjoy the downhill much. Hmm....reminds me of someone, me maybe! She really had a fun time.

This is what Brooklyn does at Mackenzie's games when she isn't cheering "go Mackenzie go" while Mackenzie is at bat. She is a little monkey!
Nice shot of dad and daughter

One of Mackenzie's at bats. She went through a short period where she couldn't hit a single pitch and had to hit off the tee again. It didn't seem to bother her and now she is back to hitting well. In safety ball the last batter hits everyone in and this time she is the last batter.

Bike for shelter

Last year we rode in this and the girls had a great time. It is a ride for a local children's shelter. This year I wasn't pregnant and Brooklyn was ready to ride on her own. My what a year can do! It is a 2-mile fun ride and Brooklyn rode the whole thing. Slow and steady with several stops but she did great. We were so proud of her. Mackenzie and I rode about 6 miles. She got a new bike for her birthday and was breaking it in. Marin fell asleep in her carseat we strapped in to the bike trailer. It was a little chilly but it was a fun activity for the family.

Afterwards there were activities for the kids like bounce houses, face painting, etc. and this miniature pony rides. Brooklyn decided she didn't want to ride.

What can I say...

Does this not just make you want to eat her up! I love when kids start to interact more and especially smile. Now if I could only get her to smile at the camera instead of pull a blank face. She is so fun!

Introducing....

Marin Lucille Wright
December 11, 2009
6 lbs. 7 oz.
18 3/4 inches
7:53 a.m.
(To pronounce her name say Mawin like Brooklyn and replace the 'w' with an 'r.' It shouldn't sound like Karen.)

Our best Christmas present arrived 2 weeks early!
This pregnancy was pretty uneventful as far as emergency situations. I almost prefer the emergency over the anticipation and anxiety of a sheduled day. We arrived at the hospital at 5:45 am where I was prepped, etc. It was so laid back it seemed very foreign. At 7:35 my doctor began. Because things were less stressful, Brandon watched almost the entire thing over the curtain. He gave me the play by play which is almost worse, especially knowing (and smelling) my flesh burning as the took out old scar tissue. Everything looked great even though I carried her even lower then the other girls. At 7:53 she made her debut into the world, crying as soon as her mouth and nose hit air and peeing 2 times before she made it to her warming table. Along with her crying which was very comforting, all I heard was "look at all the hair she has." Maybe the old wives tale is true that if you have heart burn during pregnancy your child has lots of hair. I certainly had my share of it! She had no complications and "pinked" up right away. We couldn't believe how much she weighed. We were anticipating a 5 pounder so to have one in the 6 pound range was big for me. Although Kayla is still the biggest at 6lbs 11 oz., Marin comes in second. She sure didn't seem that big and I don't know where I put her but we will take her. She is healthy and such a calm baby, only crying when she is hungry. Now if we could just get a little more sleep that would be even better!
Her sisters love her almost too much. They are difinitely proud big sisters!

November review

November went by so fast. We were trying to be on the ball and have all of Christmas done before the baby came. We were successful! The girls thought it would be funny to stick a ball under their shirts to look like mom. There was no bumper belly being played with me but they sure had fun!

Aren't they so scary! Forgot to put it on last month.
For family night we played red light green light. The girls had so much fun being carted around by Brandon or trying to cart him around. Mackenzie found out really quick that wasn't so easy.

Brooklyn the goof or dare-devil. She is always up to or into something. She is swinging on the oinger-boinger bands, just bungy cords with handles. She LOVES these. All the other kids in her class won't do it but she would do it all day if you let her.
The girls tried to catch snow on their tongues. They weren't very successful since the flakes weren't very big.

FINALLY, after 9 years of marriage I got Brandon to put Christmas lights on the house. He wasn't so thrilled but did it anyway. Thanks B they looked great!
